Vav

Vav - 6th Letter Hebrew Aleph Bet

The sixth Letter “Vav” of the Hebrew Aleph Bet

Vav – as a Word ---   Hook

Vav – as a picture -  a tent peg, nail, hook

Vav – as a number – 6 --   man,

Vav –  symbolic meaning –  nail, “and” to secure, to add

Exodus 1: 1 the word and is the letter Vav and connects exodus to Genesis – in other words a continuation of Genesis -   In Hebrew Genesis is bresheit – In the beginning

Exodus is Names , Leviticus is Lord called out, numbers is wilderness, Deuteronomy is these are the Words ---  Put together the torah is – In the beginning are the names the Lord called out to the wilderness and these are the Words

Psalm 119: 41-48

Each verse in Hebrew begins with a vav word.  In Psalm 119:41-48, we find the Vav section. In this part of Psalm 119, we see the connecting work of Vav, joining earth with Heaven – the people of Yahweh with the Almighty.

Vs 41 - Let your mercies come unto me --   the vav is a connecting word – connects us to His mercies – Hebrews 4:16 come boldly to the throne of grace to obtain mercy and grace .  Your salvation according to your Word --  the nail (shed blood) salvation according to your Word

Vs 42 – For I trust in your Word—connecting us to the truth of His Word – Proverbs 3: 5-6 trust in the Lord with all  your heart and lean not on your own understanding in all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your paths  --  when we trust He gives us the answers needed

Vs 43 – take not your Word of truth --  what is truth – His Word – I have hoped (learned to wait, trust, have faith in, tarry, stay, be patient)  His Nails (His shed blood) causes me Hope

Vs 44 – shall I keep your law continually forever and ever --  connecting to what you  have done on the cross – your shed blood I have the connecting piece to keep your law( Holy Spirit, grace)

Vs 45 – And I will walk at liberty for I seek your precepts – connecting to I Cor 3: 17 Where the Spirit of the Lord is there is Liberty --  the Spirit of the law gives liberty , the commandments were not intended to be rules and regulations they were to be a hedge of protection so we could walk in liberty – the more we seek Him the more divine influence to walk in liberty – David didn’t find the commandments burdensome or grevious, He found liberty in them

Vs46- I will speak of your testimonies and not be ashamed – connecting Rev 12:11 – they overcame by the blood of the lamb and the word of their testimony, also Rev 19:10 the testimony  of Jesus is the Spirit of Prophecy ---  I will not be ashamed

Vs 47 – I will delight myself in your commandments -  connecting us to look upon ourselves in your instructions which we love – love is the connecting to His commandments – 1 John 5:3 this is love that you  obey my commandments and my commandments aren’t grevious or burdensome .   when we are connected by the blood and the Holy Ghost His commandments aren’t grevious .

Vs 48 – My hands also will I lift up to your commandments -  connecting us to what is in our hearts(His word) my actions will follow because I Love them therefore will I meditate on them

Vav = 6 and is the V or W of Hebrew

• VAV means “HOOK” or “NAIL” in Hebrew

• VAV is also a connecting word, mean “AND”. It shows how Yahshua HOOKS or CONNECTS Heaven and earth,

Yahweh (spelled YOD – HEY – VAV – HEY) and man, together as one.

Six is the number "number of a man" - MAN was created on the 6th day, and was given

6 days each week to labor, just as YHWH  labored for 6 days in Creating our world (Gen.1:26-31 )

When God created man He said ( was very good) so 6 means man but God said His creation of Man was very good.  So the 6th day was very good.  The devil has perverted the #6 but Jesus reversed the curse so 6 has been redeemed .

YAHSHUA became a MAN in order to save MANKIND. With 3 NAILS – one in each hand then through His feet (VAV, VAV,VAV), or 666, our Saviour was NAILED to the Cross for us. In 6 hours (from 9-3), our Saviour completed the Work of Redemption (Mark 15:25 Luke 23:44)

Man was created on the 6th day which ended creation – in 6 hours Jesus ended the curse with redemption.

6 words in the Bible for man 4 hebrew – two greek

        4 hebrew – adam Gen 1: 27

Ish Zech 6:12 – male, man

                     Enosh – Psalm 103: 15 – mortal man

Gever – Jer 17:7 – name given to priest in the temple – temple crier to announce the beginning of the day and the duties – gever would “crow out” before service in the temple(  this is what is meant when Peter denied Jesus before the cock crowed(wasn;t a rooster- this was a jewish idiom)

The two greek words are found in Matthew 4:4 – anthrpos – human being, man faced  and Matthew 7: 24 --- a man as an individual, fellow, husband, sir

Numbers 25:12

The Vav that appears in the word "shalom" Numbers 25:12  "Behold, I am giving to him My Covenant of Peace."

In  Hebrew, the word shalom would be written with a proper Vav but in this passage it has a broken vav.

What is the significance of this broken Vav? The story in Numbers chapter 25 is about Phineas (the grandson of Aaron the priest) and his zeal to remove evil from Israel by driving a spear through a man who was fornicating with a Moabite woman. On account of Phineas' act, God stopped the plague and Israel was delivered from destruction. From a Messianic point of view, we can see that Phineas is a type of Yahshua, since it is written that "he was jealous for his God and made atonement for the people of Israel"  (Numbers 25:13).

On  one level we can further think of this broken Vav as picture of the brokenness of the Messiah for our ultimate deliverance.  Isaiah 53: 3-8

How so? Well, since Vav represents the number of Man, the broken Vav represents a man that is broken. In this particular verse, the man has been broken for the sake of the Covenant of Peace that brought atonement to Israel - another picture of the Messiah Yahshua and His ultimate Deliverance for us.

Hebrew words beginning with Vav --   vav – Hook –

           Proverbs 21: 8  Vazar  -  strange – to bear guilt,  a crime –

Gen 11: 30          Valad – son or child

Deut 6: 5         V Ve'ahvata et Adonai Eloheykha –  You shall love  -  Love for Yahweh is the basis for all other commandments.  -

Malachi prophesied that Elijah would return immediately prior to the arrival of the Messiah. John the Baptist

was the fulfillment of this prophecy in Yahshua’s Time. But the literal fulfillment has yet to occur – in the final

Elijah. Elijah’s name in Hebrew is

יהוּאל) note the vav, at the end of his name)

The name “Elijah” (Strong’s number H452) appears 71 times in the Old Testament. In all BUT FIVE of those

times, Elijah’s name is spelled with the vav at the end, as shown above. But FIVE times, Elijah’s name is spelled

WITHOUT the vav at the end, looking like this:

אלּיה

Jacob’s name, on the other hand, is spelled like this in Hebrew, normally:

יעקב

But FIVE times in Old Testament, Jacob’s name is spelled “defectively” by the intentional addition of the letter

vav, like this:

יצקוב

In other words, 5x in Scripture, vav is MISSING from Elijah’s name, and 5x it is ADDED to Jacob’s name. What is

the meaning of this? Since the vav is transferred from Elijah’s to Jacob’s name five times, it is obvious that

there is something Elijah has that Jacob doesn’t. This transferal occurs exactly five times, which is the

numerical value of the letter HEY (which, you will recall, represents the Holy Spirit, the Breath of YAH). This

spelling issue, dating back to ancient times and carried on is a message. YAHWEH will breathe HIS SPIRIT – the

same Spirit which empowered Elijah – upon “JACOB” – the Seed of Abraham, in the Last Days. Of this

prophecy, embedded in the Hebrew Scriptures through a “spelling error” (intentionally), Isaiah wrote:

“I will give them an undivided heart and put a new Spirit in them. I will remove from them their heart of

stone and give them a heart of flesh,” Ezekiel 11:19.

The day is coming when Spiritual Israel will be given both a new heart and a Spirit like Elijah’s. Then we will

boldly proclaim Yahshua as the Messiah, to the whole world with Power. Our hearts will be turned to our

spiritual forefathers (Malachi 4) – including Jacob – who became a prince of God when he was broken of his

own self-will and yielded his life to Yahweh. May the Day come quickly, when that which was Elijah’s will be

given to Jacob, in order that his children “toldot” in the word there are two vavs in Gen 2:4 when you come to Gen 5: 1 – this word generations is the same word but only has one vav – until you get to     Ruth 4:18  the word generations then has two vavs again ( the lineage of Jesus)

Gen 48:19-20  In Hebrew this is the only place a vav is added to “saying” which speaks of nations being added to or connected to Israel.

Hebrew word for lust has a ox head – a vav -Nail or hook and a hey – behold, reveal when put together it means strong bond that hooks us to behold – who and what do you behold ?
