Testimony of Finances
Finances Have a Voice
When we give we are not just supporting a ministry. When we give we are releasing and amplifying our voices in the courts of heaven.
Hebrews 7:8 - (The Message) - Or look at it this way: We pay our tithes to priests who die, but Abraham paid tithes to a priest who, the Scripture says, “lives.”
And here men that die receive tithes; but there he receiveth them, of whom it is witnessed that he liveth. (KJV)
To whom are we bringing our tithes? When we bring our tithes to the Lord it produces a witness in the courts of heaven. The word ‘witnessed’ means to be a witness or testify. Our money has a testimony and it speaks in the courts system of God on our behalf.
Raising a Memorial
Our money carries our faith and the things that in our heart when we give to God’s kingdom.
Acts 10:3-4 What came up to God as a memorial? ‘Alms’ means beneficence, or being kind and charitable. A memorial is something that brings things back to your memory. Our prayers and offerings create a memorial before God.
The memorial portion spoke in heaven and caused God to remember the one who brought the offering. The offering had a voice that caused God to remember.
Your Offering Has a Voice
The blowing of the trumpets caused a memorial before God that gave Him a legal right to answer their cries. Trumpets can also speak of the prophetic voice.
1 Corinthians 14:8-9 We need to prophesy over our offerings. Whatever we prophecy is a sound and testimony that will carry into the courts of heaven.
Hebrews 11:4 Abel obtained a ‘witness’ that he was righteous because God was ‘testifying’ of his gifts. Abel was receiving judicial testimony that he was righteous.
Deuteronomy 26:16-19 The first part of the chapter talks of Gods commands concerning offerings. In verse 19 He renders a verdict, to declare them blessed above all nations, Our offerings have a voice that creates testimony in heaven. Our offerings bring our present tense statement of our hearts. If we bring offerings with uncleanness, bitterness or unforgiveness in our hearts they give the wrong testimony in the courts of heaven.
Mathew 5:25-26 shows that an improper testimony can actually bring a verdict that will imprison us. This is why our offerings need to be brought with the correct motives.
Malachi is prophesying that the Messiah’s coming will have a purging or purifying effect. This purging is so we can bring our offering in righteousness. Based on what our offerings, presented in righteousness are testifying. God begins to be a witness and release judgement. In the verses what was God able to bring judgement against? How will that effect our town / society?
