The ecclesia is God’s judicial, legislative and governmental people. We have been given the authority to get things legally in place for God’s will to be done on earth,
God can do nothing unless we give Him the legal right. The devil can do nothing unless he is legally allowed
Matt. 16:18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build [also confirm] my church [called out]; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
Matt. 16:19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
Matt 16:18 (The Message) - a church so expansive with energy that not even the gates of hell will be able to keep it out
We have been given the legal right to bind and loose. Binding is also a legal term, as in a binding contract. The most important notion behind a binding contract is that it is enforceable by law. If there is a dispute as to whether a binding contract has been breached, it must be settled in a court of law. Loosing can refer to the dissolving of a contract because it has been breached or was not legal to begin with. The devil has certain legal rights to operate on the earth. We can be loosed from these contracts and have them dissolved by bringing them before God’s courts. Whose job is is to bind and loose, or enter into and dissolve these contracts? It is our job, the ecclesia. To bind, we are to acquire a contract in the courts of heaven and to loose we are to dissolve a contract in the courts of heaven.
Answering the Accuser
We are given an example of this when Jesus went to the courts of heaven to secure the destiny of Peter that was written in his book in heaven.
Luke 22:31 - And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat:
32 - But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.
The word for ‘desired’ in verse 31 is exaiteomai, which means to demand for trial. Satan was trying to prevent Peter from getting his destiny by means of legal action in the courts of heaven. What are some things Satan could have used against Peter to try to legally stop him from obtaining his destiny? He could have used Peter’s denial, sins in his bloodline or other sins. All of these would be accusations because Satan is the accuser.
Rev. 12:10) And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. 11) And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.
The word ‘accuser’ in verse 10 is the Greek word kategoros and means a complainant at law.
In Job 1:6-12, Satan comes before God to accuse Job. What is the accusation?, that of serving God with impure motives. (My thought, the only way God could silence the accusation was to allow the hardships) This is why we must always be on guard to ensure our heart or motives are correct.
Psa. 139:23) Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: 24) And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.
At the end of Job’s story there is restoration, which is always the result of legal activity in a court. It was when Job prayed for his friends the restoration started.
Job 42:10) And the LORD turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends…
Standing in Holiness
Satan came to accuse Joshua of being unclean. His uncleanness could keep him from carrying out his destiny. In the same way our cleanliness and holiness is necessary to God’s will being done. If Joshua remained clean and walked in a righteous manner he would be granted charge in the courts of heaven
We need to remember that Satan roams the earth as a devourer. But he can only devour when he has a legal reason.
1 Pet. 5:8) Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
The Power and Authority
Granted Us in the Courts of Heaven
When Jesus silenced Satan’s accusations against Peter (Luke 22), He did it as a mortal man. If He had tapped into His Godly abilities then He would have forfeited His right to be our Saviour. This is shown in Philippians 2:5-11. If He did it as a mortal man, then we have the same ability.
Closing Doors Through Open Sin
Even though we have the same ability to approach the courts of heaven, before doing so we must deal with our own sin, both our own and those of our bloodline. Satan will use any ammunition he can muster to bring accusation against us.
Isaiah 43:25) I, even I, am He who blots out your transgressions for My own sake; And I will not remember your sins. 26) Put Me in remembrance; Let us contend together; State your case, that you may be acquitted. 27) Your first father sinned, And your mediators have transgressed against Me. 28) Therefore I will profane the princes of the sanctuary; I will give Jacob to the curse, And Israel to reproaches.
God is telling us that He blots out our sins for His sake, He needs/uses us to fulfil destinies. We are to remind Him of the things written in the books of heaven and then contend for them together. We are not contending as adversaries, but contending arm in arm together. Once we have stated our case we can be acquitted of the accusation. Notice that because of Adam’s sin and the sins of the mediators, destinies did not get fulfilled.
Transgressions of the Mediators
and First Fathers’
The sins of the mediators and of Adam can bring reproach upon us and on nations. That is why it is so important to cleanse our bloodline to ensure that we have legal right to argue in the courts of heaven and achieve our destiny in the books of heaven. As with most things, the more we gain skill in the courts, the more Satan will try to bring accusations. If you are willing to sit back and do nothing, he is often willing to let you. We need to repent of our fathers’ sins to cleanse our bloodline.
Neh. 1:4 And it came to pass, when I heard these words, that I sat down and wept, and mourned certain days, and fasted, and prayed before the God of heaven, 5) And said, I beseech thee, O LORD God of heaven, the great and terrible God, that keepeth covenant and mercy for them that love him and observe his commandments: 6) Let thine ear now be attentive, and thine eyes open, that thou mayest hear the prayer of thy servant, which I pray before thee now, day and night, for the children of Israel thy servants, and confess the sins of the children of Israel, which we have sinned against thee: both I and my father’s house have sinned.
When Nehemiah repents of his father’s sins he is not changing their eternal resting place, he is cleansing his bloodline. He is removing Satan’s authority to use anything in the bloodline against him. These sins do not just disappear over time. They only disappear when we take the blood of Jesus and apply it those sins.
